|Cinamaker enables a network, wireless or wired, that connects and synchronizes all your devices; iPhones and digital cameras with the Mac or iPad as your control center
In addition to connecting iPhones and iPads as cameras with Cinamaker, you can also connect digital cameras and just about any other device as long as it has HDMI output. This can include computers, game systems, DVD players and more.
As of July 2023, Cinamaker has discontinued sales of HDMI encoders. See the following recommendations for purchasing HDMI encoders.
It is simple to connect HDMI devices to Cinamaker. Using an HDMI Encoder your HDMI signal will be converted into IP when plugged into the network via ethernet.
For example, you can plug a micro HDMI cable into the HDMI output jack on a Sony camcorder and plug the other end, a standard HDMI input, into the encoder. The encoder will then be plugged into the network switch using ethernet and will receive an HDMI signal.
Connect Digital Cameras/Devices
The next step is to view and verify that your digital cameras/devices on the Director Studio app are available. Unlike iOS cameras on the network, your digital cameras/devices must be manually activated. Do this by opening the camera browser (the camera icon is next to the Start Recording and/or Live Stream). To activate the digital cameras/devices, you simply need to select "Connect". To verify, return to the main preview screen and you will see your cameras are now connected.
The image below shows two iPhones and an IP camera (the encoder) are now connected.

Note: RTSP Encoders
Cinamaker does not support 3rd Party Encoders.
We do recommend the following in order to utilize 3rd Party encoders with Cinamaker:
1. Always update the manufacturers latest firmware
2. If your encoder is not auto-detected in the Cinamaker camera browser, use instructions from your encoder manufacturer to retrieve the RTSP Stream URL. You may then enter the RTSP stream URL by clicking '+ Add device manually' in the 'Camera Browser'
